Ghost Sighting Essex The St Annes Castle

Saint Annes castle dates back to the 12th century. The pub is associated with the legend of a local witch, Ann Hughes, who was executed in 1621 and buried at the crossroads with a stake through the heart and a heavy boulder on top of her grave to stop her spirit escaping. She is said to haunt the pub.
