Built in 1180. It is haunted by a young soldier known as Buttoncap who fell in lovoe with another man's wofe in the 16th century. he was killed by the husband.

Built in 1625. The spirit of Bishop Leslie of Limerick is said to haunt the four poster room.

Real Haunted House County Offaly Kinnitty Castle

Rebuilt by the Normans in 1213. The Castle has its own resident ghost. One of the long dead monks has been seen in the banqeting room feasting on ghostly food.

Built in the 14th century. Was the host to a massacre in the banqueting room. It is said to be teeming with ghosts.

Built in the 13th cnetury. It is haunted by many unseen spirits whose presence can be felt in every room. The best known is Puck the phantom jester - a sixteenth century jester for the castle who was found stabbed through the heart.

RATHMULLAN PRIORY GHOST PHOTO

Rathmullan Priory was founded in 1516 for the Carmelite Order by Owen Roe MacSweeney and dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was to be an important Carmelite House and a beacon of religious piety for the north west of Ireland. It was still in use in 1595 when we have record of the English leader George Bingham attacking this sacred place. He stole the treasured Communion Plate as well as other holy relics. After the Carmelites were kicked out, the Protestant Bishop Knox took over the Priory and started to renovated part of it to use as a private residence.
The present structure is in a ruined state, heavily covered in vines. The Priory lies in the heart of the village and is visited by hundreds of tourists each year.
This photograph was sent in by Jenny taken on her Sony Ericsson W890i mobile phone. Jenny told us that she had not seen anything there when she had taken the photo and only noticed the ghostly image when she was reviewing the pictures later.

Co.Kerry Lake hotel

Built in 1210 is home to a ghost called Dan of the Feathers who was a soldier during the reign of Elizebeth I.

An 18th century farmhouse. It is haunted by the ghost of a large black cat with blazing red eyes.

Dun an Oir (Fort Del Oro)

A local farmer claimed to have seen three skeletons floating out to sea. Another saw 12 skulls bobbing on the water.

Ireland, Cork - Charles Fort

The British built Charles Fort in the 17th Century. The commander was Colonel Warrender. His daughter married an officer at the fort. The Colonel shot the officer while sleeping on duty by mistake. The daughter threw herself from the battlements and the Colonel then killed himself.
The three ghosts haunt the Fort.

Londonderry The Workhouse Museum

Built in the 1830's and home to the ghost = The Blue Guardian. She was responsible for the welfare of the children at the Workhouse. She would lock naughtly children in the cupboard at the top of the house. She forgot about two children and they died. Her ghost walks the museum wailing in grief and shame.

Londonderry Springhill house

Built in the 17th century. A rocking chair is said to rock on it's own. Mysterious footsteps have been heard on the steps. The ghost of a tall lady in a black dress has been seen.

Londonderry The River Inn

The ghost of a woman walks from the rest rooms to the front door.

Queen Street Ballymoney

Queen street is haunted by the ghost of George "Bloody" Hutchinson, a JP in 1790.

Co. Tyrone Lissan House

Built in 1620. People have reported the smell of rose petals and lavender and the crying of a young girl can be heard.

Belfast The Grand Opera house

Opened in 1895. Cast memberss coming down from the dressing rooms have often seen another face looking at them as they pass a round window.

Ireland Grace Neill's

Grace Neill's is the oldest pub in Ireland - built in 1611. A shadowy filgure of a Victorian lady has been seen on the premises. It could be Grace herself - she makes herself known by the smell of her pipe.

Belfast The Golden Thread Theatre

The Theatre stands on the site of a former Mill. The ghost is a small white haired lady who moves glasses and bottles.

Ireland Dobbin's Inn hotel

Built in the 13th century. But the ghost dates back to the 16th century. Maude, the Mayors wife, owned the house and fell in love with a handsome captain stationed at the barracks. her husband put them both to death and the lovers are still around today.
