Real Ghost Buster Captures Ghost in High Tech Chamber!

Most of us remember the "Ghost Busters" movie. We watched in delight as Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd used techniques and equipment that only Hollywood could have invented, to capture and "bust" ghosts. Although the movies were entertaining (admit it you liked them) even the strongest believers in ghosts knew that they were pretty far fetched and unbelievable. Using a trap to capture a real ghost? We all knew that it was impossible. Or was it?


A man by the name of Robert Bess didn't think so. As a matter of fact, he spent over 10,000 dollars of his own money to build his very own "ghost trap", with the intentions of capturing and filming a real ghost for the first time in history. Believe it or not, there are many that say he has succeeded and that there are pictures and film to prove it. NBC featured his quest dubbed the "3 Mile Lock Experiment" in a television show. The show followed Bess to the Pump House near Boulevard Bridge in Richmond, VA, where he set up his chamber.

Bess' chamber is an 8 ft tall, 4 foot wide box constructed of plexiglass. Electromagnets, lasers, sensors, internal and external digital thermometers, and magnetic locks were strategically installed to prevent the entity from escaping once it was inside. Great care was taken in the design of this real life ghost buster trap.

Bess had initially tried to attract investors in his chamber but was predictably unsuccessful. Still determined to prove the existence of ghosts and that his ghost trap would work, Bess ponied up his own money to see the experiment through. In May of 2007, it all paid off according to Bess.While NBC filmed his experiment for television and over one hundred witnesses watched, the chamber was triggered and two entities were trapped within the ghost chamber walls. These ghosts were visible to everyone present, including the NBC crew. The ghosts were captured on both video and still picture. There is no doubt that something was contained within the chamber. Was it a real ghost? The ghosts were released a short while later and the debate over the Bess Ghost Chamber began. One would assume that Robert Bess had once and for all proven the existence of ghosts and that society and the scientific community would finally accept the reality of ghosts and paranormal activity. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Although Bess welcomes challenges to his technology, skeptics remain non believers. No matter how much and what kind of evidence is presented, some people will never believe that there is any such thing as a real ghost and the ghost chamber is proof of that.

Ghosts are different things depending on who you ask.  While 32% of Americans believe in ghosts, according to a 2005 Gallup poll, there is a divergence of opinion as to what constitutes a ghost.  Parapsychologists are in favor of the term, apparition, because it's purportedly more precise.  An apparition is considered immaterial, but it can seem real and tangible.  There are a variety of entities that qualify for the catch-all term, ghost, and here they are, in no particular order.

The spirit of a deceased person could make itself known in its former habitat, i.e., a home or office.  In this case, the ghost is said to have a likeness to the deceased either in appearance, behavior, or vocal imitation.  Of course, it may not be an imitation!

Other common uses of the term refer to angels or demons, or even as a synonym for a person's immaterial spirit, whether or not they're presenting themselves to others.

Ghosts are portrayed as having a semi-transparent, unspecific form, loosely resembling the person they once were.  Their motives are helpful, ominous, or treacherous.  Their motions are transient because they pop in and out.  They're often seen fleeing or scurrying.  Of course, reports abound, and these are only a few examples of the alleged behavior of ghosts.

Ghost mythology is common in every ancient culture - from the Egyptians, to the Chinese, to the Europeans of the Middle Ages  Ghosts were thought to be the disembodied soul of the person they once inhabited. 

Parapsychologists study ghosts as part of their living. A parapsychologist seeks to understand paranormal phenomena.  Paranormal phenomena is described as any phenomenon or occurrence that exceeds the bounds of what is possible, according to the established principles and laws of science.

Skeptics charge the controversy with several explanations for suspected ghost sightings.  For instance, Scientists Richard Lord and Richard Wiseman explain that sound waves having frequencies less than 20 hertz are normally inaudible, nonetheless, they may cause someone to feel a presence or shift their mood to anxiety or dread.  Carbon monoxide poisoning was cited as a cause for haunted houses as early as 1921 because it can cause hallucinations, ill feelings, and a sensation of dread as well.

Another condition, pareidolia, is a condition that causes someone to recognize human faces or forms in random patterns.  That's kind of like a case of seeing what you anticipate, hope for, or want to happen, instead of just seeing.  Skeptics aside, extraordinary sightings and stories flow in from all corners of the world at large.

Let's take a look and see whether or not ghosts might have a scant possibility of really existing.

The New Testament acknowledges the existence of demons, the real spiritual beings that tempt, lie, deceive, and physically harm humans.  According to the Bible their intention is to turn people away from God, from the best interests of the human and what will make then happiest, and to try to cause humans to think that they're smarter than the All mighty loving God.  Jesus gave humans the power to cast out demons and walk over the enemy.  We have a shield of protection through Christ's blood.  A study of the gospel and the historical teachings of Jesus as it relates to angels and demons is too important and is a separate area of study outside of ghosts.

But, before we begin, let's move on to the ghost stories of the world.

The face of Martha Rendell, the only female to be executed at Fremantle, appears in the window of the church frequently. The face seems to be produced by ripples in the glass that reflect light in an abnormal way, but the resemblance is eerie.

In China, Tuen Mun Road in Hong Kong is apparently causing excessive death tolls due to "ghosts popping up in the middle of the road".  Drivers avert the apparitions by veering their cars quickly and end up crashing.  Hundreds of people allege that this highway is haunted, and many claim to have lost complete control of their automobiles.

Traveling to England we find a case with some substantial evidence, no pun intended.  London's primary criminal court, the Old Bailey, has an uninvited guest at major trials.  Judges, barristers, and policemen attest to this strange apparition.

Even Mount Everest has its ghost in resident, probably the ghost of climber, Andrew Irvine, who tried to reach the summit in 1924 with George Mallory, but disappeared on his journey upward.  Two climbers in 1975 said that they occupied a snow hole with him, and other climbers have seen a ghost too.

Ireland has the Temple Michael, a quint church and castle positioned on the blackwater river, with a close proximity to Youghal, Co Cork.  The place is not used, and it overlooks the blackwater river.  Visitors and local inhabitants of the region claim to have heard shrieks, screams, lights in motion, static on cameras over the church grounds, twigs that break without explanation, and coffins that close and open of their own accord.

In Japan, the tomb of Masakado near Tokyo is said to be haunted by the ghost of Masakado. During the 1920's, the Office for the Ministry of Finance was built on top of it.  In 1926, the minister of finance and 10 staff members died of disease.  The tomb was restored.  After WWII, however, they attempted to construct over it again.  The driver of the bulldozer died, however, when it overturned.

The most haunted abode in Scotland is the Close of Mary King in Edinburgh.  It was built in the 1600s, and it contained hundreds of people during the plague of 1645 when they were quarantined.  Voices, dogs, and a lady clad in black have all been recorded.

Several fables, stories, and accounts arise out of the United States. One of particular interest is the Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Kentucky.  It used to house tuberculosis patients and people refer to it as the most haunted place ever.  More than 60,000 unconfirmed deaths have been reported and the owners of the property, construction workers and maintenance staff, and paranormal investigators have claimed one can see unnatural lights and phantasms darting around the premises at night.  The hallways and rooms are filled with appearances of ghosts.

It is clear that immaterial entities exist because Jesus cast these personal and evil beings out of people.  They shrieked and screamed and cursed, and this was written about as an account of real events by the meticulous doctor and historian, Luke, in the gospel of Luke.  Get protection from spirits through Jesus Christ.  Whether or not they're actual people or vicious demons, Jesus has all power in heaven and on earth, and it says this in Matthew 28:18.

Paranormal phenomena are alive and well because the physical world isn't all there is.

Ghost Sighting Pictures Hertfordshire

This amazing photo was taken by photographer and graphic designer Neil Sandbach in 2008. Neil was photographing some scenic shots at a farm Hertfordshire, England, as part of a project for wedding stationery; the couple planned to have their wedding ceremony held there.
Later, Neil was astonished when he examined the digital photo on his computer. There, as if peeking around a corner at him, is a ghostly, white, almost glowing figure of what looks like a child. Neil says he is quite sure there was no one there at the time.
There is further corroboration that this is a true ghost photo. Neil had shown the couple the anomalous photo, and before the wedding they asked the staff at the farm if they had ever had any spooky experiences there. They did not mention Neil's photo. Indeed, they admitted that the figure of a young boy, dressed in white night clothes, had been seen on several occasions around the barn.

My wife and I went to San Jose California in 2003. We decided to go on the Winchester Mystery House tour and look what I snapped....its really creepy because I'm not one who really believes in Ghost...please note we did not have any old people on our tour and I purposely stayed back to take better pictures. To my knowledge there was no one near me at the time I took this picture. I did some research on Sarah Winchester and found a couple of photos that were taken of her and their is a resemblance....have you seen any photos like this before?? Maybe the image was put there on purpose I don't know ...but it's interesting.

The following photo was sent in by a gentleman named Bob Martin. A few years ago, Martin was reading David McCullough's book "Truman", and a photo of construction in the White House caught his eye. It was taken during remodeling around 1950 by National Parks Service photographer Abbie Rowe.

At the back right of the photo, an apparition can be seen standing in the construction works. Compared to the other men in the photo, it's size scale is accurate. And if this were due to some motion or long exposure effect, the rest of the photo should be affected, as well.

This remarkable image first appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times (12-21-03) and was apparently captured with a closed-circuit security camera at Hampton Court Palace in London, England. The palace was built in 1525 on the River Thames 10 miles west of central London and was one the the places that King Henry VIII lived. Jane Seymour, his third wife, died there giving birth to a son, and her ghost is said to walk through one of the cobbled courtyards carrying a candle. No one seems to know what this ghostly figure represents but according to security, it sure looks like a ghost.

This ghost photo with a spooky disembodied head was taken at Hull's aquarium 'The Deep' by 21 year old Emma Place. The picture was taken on her mobile phone, she was taking photos of the sharks. It was Emma's boyfriend who first spotted the disembodied head in the photo.

This picture was taken with infrared film during an investigation at the Toys R Us store in Sunnyvale, California. The man seen leaning against the wall at the rear of the picture was not visible and did not appear in normal photos taken at the same time.

This photo was taken at Corroboree Rock at Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia in 1959. What does not seem to be a trick of light and shadow is a human form, semi-transparent, wearing what looks like a long white dress or gown. More curious, the figure seems to be holding something in the manner that a person holds a camera or binoculars.
One posssibility is that this is a double exposure of a living person. In 1959, this image would have been captured on film.
If it is not a double exposure and this is a spirit captured on film, then a number of questions arise: What is the entity looking and why? Do they have cameras and binoculars in the afterlife? Or is this an instance of a time slip in which the camera has recorded a scene from a different time?

This photograph was taken in 1963 by Reverend K. F. Lord at Newby Church in North Yorkshire, England. It has been a controversial photo because it is just too good. The shrouded face and the way it is looking directly into the camera makes it look like it was posed – a clever double exposure. Yet supposedly the photo has been scrutinized by photo experts who say the image is not the result of a double exposure.
The Reverend Lord has said of the photo that nothing was visible to the naked eye when he took the snapshot of his altar. Yet when the film was developed, standing there was this strange cowled figure.
The Newby Church was built in 1870 and, as far as anyone knows, did not have a history of ghosts, hauntings or other peculiar phenomena. Those why have carefully analyzed the proportions of the objects in the photo calculated that the specter is about nine feet tall!

On November 19, 1995, Wem Town Hall in Shropshire, England burned to the ground. Many spectators gathered to watch the old building, built in 1905, as it was being consumed by the flames. Tony O'Rahilly, a local resident, was one of those onlookers and took photos of the spectacle with a 200mm telephoto lens from across the street. One of those photos shows what looks like a small, partially transparent girl standing in the doorway. Nether O'Rahilly nor any of the other onlookers or firefighters recalled seeing the girl there.

 James Courtney and Michael Meehan, crew members of the S.S. Watertown, were cleaning a cargo tank of the oil tanker as it sailed toward the Panama Canal from New York City in December of 1924. Through a freak accident, the two men were overcome by gas fumes and killed. As was the custom of the time, the sailors were buried at sea off the Mexican coast on December 4.
But this was not the last the remaining crew members were to see of their unfortunate shipmates. The next day, before dusk, the first mate reported seeing the faces of the two men in the waves off the port side of the ship. They remained in the water for 10 seconds, then faded. For several days thereafter, the phantom-like faces of the sailors were clearly seen by other members of the crew in the water following the ship.
On arrival in New Orleans, the ship's captain, Keith Tracy, reported the strange events to his employers, the Cities Service Company, who suggested he try to photograph the eerie faces. Captain Tracy purchased a camera for the continuing voyage. When the faces again appeared in the water, Captain Tracy took six photos, then locked the camera and film in the ship's safe. When the film was processed by a commercial developer in New York, five of the exposures showed nothing but sea foam. But the sixth showed the ghostly faces of the doomed seamen. The negative was checked for fakery by the Burns Detective Agency. After the ship's crew had been changed, there were no more reports of sightings.

"This is the photo that changed my opinion about ghost photos," says Terry Ike Clanton, who is an actor, recording artist and cowboy poet, and is also a cousin of the legendary Clanton Gang who clashed with the Earps and Doc Holliday at the famous gunfight at OK Corral. Clanton took this photo of his friend at boothill graveyard. The photo was taken in black and white because he wanted Old West-looking pictures of himself dressed in Clanton's 1880-period clothes. Clanton took the film for developing to the local Thrifty Drug Store, and when he got it back was startled at what he saw. Among the gravestones, just to the right of his friend, is the image of what appears to be a thin man in a dark hat. By height, the man appears to be either legless, kneeling... or rising up out of the ground.
"I know there was no other person in this photograph when I shot it," Clanton insists. And he believes the small figure in the background is holding a knife. "We thought this was a tie at first, but after further review, it appears to be a knife," Clanton says. "The knife is in a vertical position; the tip is located just below the figure's right collar. If you're not convinced that something is weird here, look at my friend's shadow in the photo. It appears to be going back slightly to the right of him. The figure in the back should have the same shadow, but it doesn't!"

This photograph of the Combermere Abbey library was taken in 1891 by Sybell Corbet. The figure of a man can faintly be seen sitting in the chair to the left. His head, collar and right arm on the armrest are clearly discernable. It is believed to be the ghost of Lord Combermere.

Sefton Church is an ancient structure (started in the 12th century and finished in the early 16th century) in Merseyside, England, just north of Liverpool. This particular photograph was taken inside the church in September, 1999.
According to Real Ghosts, Restless Spirits and Haunted Places, where this photo was found, there was only one other photographer in the church beside the person who took this picture. Neither of them recalled seeing the ghost or any flesh-and-blood person standing there who could account for this image. Because the figure is all in black, it has been theorized that the apparition could be that of a church minister.

This photograph was taken with an old-styled Polaroid land camera in 1959 at a location on north Damen Ave. which no longer exists. It shows a real girl standing on the stairs and this strange mist-like substance which seems to be exuding from her stomach region and collecting along the entire stairway. Some parts are translucent while others seem visually opaque. This may be a psychic photograph; in other words ectoplasm being produced by a living person. Externalization of thought.

A black and white infrared picture taken at Hull House in downtown Chicago, Illinois by Dale Kaczmarek in November of 1980. This is enlarged blowup of the interior staircase of this most haunted house in Chicago. There was nothing visible to the naked eye when the photograph was taken but what appears are four distinct shadowy monk-like figures standing on the bottom four or five steps. The one directly in the middle appears to be dressed in monk's habit with his two hands together in prayer. There are two other figures to the left of the center monk and one to the right superimposed on the banister which apparently has no head!
