this is probably going back 20 years or so, but was definatly very spooky.
We lived on abbey road, which is an old road in knaresborough next to the river. One winters night around 10-11 pm we all returned home after a meal in harrogate. as we approached the house i noticed a man stood staring at the front door. My dad noticed him too and stopped as the man was stood in the middle of the road (abbey road is very narrow). The man/figure did not react to us stopping and watching him, he just walked straight towards the front door and dissapeared as if he walked straight through it. The whole family witnessed this. After parking up and a little freaked out my dad opened the door with a key and nobody had broken in and the door was securly locked. it was very strange. the figure was dressed in a short dark coloured wollen jumper and a sort of old maybe fishermans hat, we never saw his face but was of solid appearence, average height etc. he could not have entered the house, nor walked off in different direction.

Ghost Sighting PicturesYorkshire
This photograph was taken in 1963 by Reverend K. F. Lord at Newby Church in North Yorkshire, England. It has been a controversial photo because it is just too good. The shrouded face and the way it is looking directly into the camera makes it look like it was posed – a clever double exposure. Yet supposedly the photo has been scrutinized by photo experts who say the image is not the result of a double exposure. The Reverend Lord has said of the photo that nothing was visible to the naked eye when he took the snapshot of his altar. Yet when the film was developed, standing there was this strange cowled figure.
The Newby Church was built in 1870 and, as far as anyone knows, did not have a history of ghosts, hauntings or other peculiar phenomena. Those why have carefully analyzed the proportions of the objects in the photo calculated that the specter is about nine feet tall!

Scarbourgh Castle Ghost Sighting
Piers Gaveston is said to haunt Scarbourgh Castle. The headless body haunts Scarborough Castle, or so it is said. It has been seen stalking the battlements, and hides in shadowy niches when certain visitors approach, sometimes emerging to try to draw them over the crenulated stone to their deaths.
